If I ever make it back to the gym I'm doing a 4 inch pin press lock-out from the floor with three fifty. I'm just labeling it a press tho so no one will know.
Have you ever tried it?

Yes actually about 15 years ago. Lol This one guy that worked at the college used to load up the bar and press it about 4 inches or so. I think I tried it once with maybe around 300 lbs but that was about it. I don't think it really had much carryover for a raw intermediate but who knows. LolHave you ever tried it?
back when I was younger...So bench is ok? When I think of "pressing" on it's own I think overhead. Also, if this is a "press big plates for reps", then I'm guessing really it's going to 135 for almost everyone. I've only ever seen a small handful of people ever press 225 overhead. Bench is a different story.
Any, I hit 135 x 7 in my last AMRAP session. Strict standing OH Press.
For bench I hit 225 x 8 not long ago. Slowly working my way back up to a 300 max, and that's my goal for this year. Currently doing a 5 x 5 progression and now at 245 on that.
Not submissions. Just showing that regular guys can manage a 225 Military Press. If I something worthwhile within the next 6 months I will submit it.Spreadsheet is updated.
@Jeff Roark I'm guessing since these are older that they aren't submissions. Let me know if I'm misreading that and I'll put our first 225 press on the board!
very impressive! If you don’t mind me asking, what was your body weight when you were pressing 225lbs?back when I was younger..
In the 230lbs and 215lbs video I was around 180-185lbs. I had dieted down pretty hard for Push-Pull competition that they used to have annually at the prison where I work.very impressive! If you don’t mind me asking, what was your body weight when you were pressing 225lbs?
It’s a long term goal of mine to military press my body weight and that is still a long way away from where I am now. 225lbs would be 1.25bw… it’s hard to conceive!
That is a solid question.any chance we can do weird press variation, like dips (or 4 inch lock out press)
How strict should the press be? Is tren allowed? That is a solid question.
First person to strict press 225 on video gets to decide if dips count as a press
If it has press in the name I'll count it. military, overhead, push press, bent press, yoth-sarcasmo press, bench press. How strict should the press be? Is tren allowed?
Nicely done! The plan of the day called for five strict overhead press triples with 100kg. So three reps with two plates for me.
So can we dips? The plan of the day called for five strict overhead press triples with 100kg. So three reps with two plates for me.
