Well, put it like this: if all you had was a tire and a heavy rock, and all you did was flip the tire, carry the rock, ate at a surplus, and slept well, you would get bigger. Whereas if you had the perfect program and you ate crap or not enough and didn't get enough sleep, your gains would be anemic, if any at all.I agree about the importance. But if eating and sleeping alone was that important, profetional joggers, wrestlers and golfers would more or less be in similiar shape. Lets say its one of the main pillars?
And honestly, the most important thing about a program....follow instructions. Don't get distracted.
